Local high school sailing teams not only practice and compete locally but also have the chance to qualify and participate in District and National Championships. Youth Sailing Virginia opens up sailing opportunities for 7th to 12th-grade students from both public and independent schools during the spring and fall seasons. These local high school teams participate as members of the Virginia Interscholastic Sailing Association (VISA), contributing to the Mid-Atlantic Scholastic Sailing Association (MASSA) district under the Interscholastic Sailing Association (ISSA).

YSV takes pride in being a venue for high school racing on Mill Creek at Fort Monroe, VA. This page serves as a valuable resource, offering information on upcoming regattas. For newly formed high school teams, YSV is a guiding hand, assisting with aspects such as registration, gear requirements, coaching, and more.
