Location

YSV sailing stadium is strategically located on the shallow waters of Mill Creek at historic Fort Monroe, which provides a world-class venue for sailors to enjoy and a great viewing for families.  This site provides a safe enclosed body of water with virtually no power boat traffic.  On any given day visitors to Fort Monroe and residents along the north side of Mill Creek are offered perfect visibility to watch practices and regattas throughout the spring and fall seasons.

YSV has proven its potential for hosting regional and national championships that included teams from Virginia, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey. Christopher Newport University Sailing Team also uses YSV’s facilities for practices and collegiate-level regattas.

Fort Monroe is centrally located in Hampton and is located on the westbound side of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.  Approaching Fort Monroe visitors will travel through the historic area of Phoebus.  A waterfront community with a small town feel and rich history.  Phoebus is home to many shops and restaurants that invite visitors to enjoy.
